‘The University Cloud Challenge 2024’

Terms and Conditions (‘Terms and Conditions’)

              

1.      ELIGIBILITY.  This promotion is open to any college, or university, with its registered office in England, Wales, or Scotland and Spain and the person submitting on behalf of the company, must be eighteen (18) years of age, or older at the time of entry.

IT Masterclasses Ltd. affiliates, advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible to enter.

By entering this contest, you are certifying that your institution’s policy allows you to accept prizes of this value on behalf of the institution.

 

2.      ENTRY.  The institution is entered into the University Cloud Challenge when any of their students register for the University Cloud Challenge at this website: https://aka.ms/UCC24.  As the student progresses through the learning journey their institution is awarded points for registration, study, practice test and the taking of a Fundamentals exam.  The points for all students at that institution are aggregated and the institution is ranked in a public league-table, which will feature on the website given above.  At the end of the competition the university, or college, at the top of the league table will be declared the winner. 3.      To the extent that entry requires the submission of intellectual property such as photos, videos, music, artwork, essays, etc., entrants warrant that their entry legally belongs to the company, and does not violate the privacy, intellectual property rights or other rights of any other person or entity.

 

Entries will be ineligible if they (a) are incomplete; (b) exceed the maximum number of entries allowed per company; (c) violate the rights of any other person or entity; [and/or] (d) are received outside of the Promotion Period set out below.

 

Only one (1) entry per student will be accepted. No purchase necessary to enter the promotion.  Entry constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.  IT Masterclasses Ltd. is not responsible for lost, corrupted or delayed entries.  IT Masterclasses Ltd. reserves the right to disqualify any company who violates these Terms and Conditions.

 

4.      TIMING. This promotion runs from 12.01:00 am GMT on 1st April 2024 until 8.59:59 pm GMT on 14th May 2024 (inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”).

 

5.      USE OF YOUR ENTRY.  Your personal data will be used by IT Masterclasses Ltd. and agents acting on IT Masterclasses Ltd. behalf only for the operation of this promotion.

 

6.      SELECTION OF WINNER(S).  All valid entries will be judged as a finalist.  The winning entry/entries will be determined by a panel of judges with at least one (1) independent judge on 16th May 2024.  Judging will be based on:

·        Total points accruing to that institution

·        Points awarded on this basis:

·        Student Registration 1 point

·        Student attends webinar 10 points

·        Student access Microsoft Learn 10 points

·        Student passes exam – up to 1000 points

 

A maximum of one (1) prize per eligible entry is allowed.  The winner(s) will be notified by email to the address provided by the potential winner by 15th May 2024. If a potential winner has not confirmed receipt of the notification within ten (10) days after the first attempt, an alternative winner will be selected on the same basis as described above.  The winner(s) may be asked to provide identification proving their eligibility before they are entitled to receive the prize.  The winner(s) may be asked to participate in further publicity or advertising.

 

7.      PRIZE(S).  There will be three prizes in total.  The prizes will be as follows:

·        A Championship Cup or Plaque with the Winning Institution’s name (value £200)

·        A box of branded, low-value, SWAG items for the students involved (Value £100)

The prize(s) is/are as stated and is/are not transferable.  No cash alternatives available.  IT Masterclasses Ltd. reserves the right to substitute any (or all) prize(s) with (a) prize(s) of equal or greater value.  The prize(s) will be sent by IT Masterclasses Ltd., or its agent, no later than twenty eight (28) days after the winner(s) has/have been selected.  Unless otherwise stated, the prize(s) are subject to their manufacturer’s warranty and/or terms and conditions.

 

The prize(s) may be considered a taxable benefit to the winner(s).  The winner(s) will be directly responsible for accounting for and paying to HMRC, or other relevant tax authority, any tax liability arising on their prize.

 

 

8.      LIST OF WINNER(S).  Each winner consents to its institution name being made publicly available upon request.  The institution name of the winner will be available for a period of twenty eight (28) days after the selection of the winner(s) by written request to Andrew Bettany at andrew@itmasterclasses.com.

 

9.      OTHER.  No correspondence will be entered into regarding either this promotion or these Terms and Conditions.  In the unlikely event of a dispute, IT Masterclasses Ltd. decision shall be final.  IT Masterclasses Ltd. reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw this promotion at any time but only before the delivery of the prize(s), without notice.

 

Participating companies in this promotion agree that IT Masterclasses Ltd. will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, costs, damage, disappointment or losses of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from acceptance, misuse or use of a prize, or from participation in this promotion.

 

IT Masterclasses Ltd. cannot guarantee the performance of any third party and shall not be liable for any act or default by a third party.  

 

10.   SPIRIT OF THE COMPETITION.  If an entrant attempts to compromise the integrity or the legitimate operation of this promotion by hacking or by cheating or committing fraud in any way, IT Masterclasses Ltd. may seek damages from that entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Further, IT Masterclasses Ltd. will disqualify that entrant’s entry to this promotion and may ban the entrant from participating in any of our future promotions, so please play fairly.
